Our Facility

woman with dog

Our large kennel building houses 15 dogs.

The gas radiant heating system operates year round on a thermostat. Ceiling fans keep it cool in summer.
We have a washer, a dryer, a fridge and freezer and music center.

Each dog is assigned a 4’by 12’ run inside the building.
Ours is not an indoor-outdoor set-up.

We take the dogs out in the morning to their individual outdoor venue which is a 12’ by 12’ gravel pen with a roof. Each dog gets its own indoor and outdoor venues.

At the front of the main building there are 8 large backyard-size exercise yards (chain link fenced on grass) where dogs are let off leash to play individually. Our largest yard is 30’ by 100’. We do not put dogs together as a rule.

There are many paths and trails on the ranch property for safe walks on an extenda-lead.

All dogs are exercised based on their age and ability.

Throughout the day, depending on the dog’s breed, age and exercise needs, he/she will visit all of the venues.

During the day, if it rains, becomes cold or too hot, the dogs are returned to the building.

All dogs are put up in the building at night.

Here are a few tips to help make you and your dog(s) have the best kennel experience possible. The tips are not given in order of  importance.

Owner with Dog

Before you bring the dog to the kennel, make sure he has had ample opportunity to void.

Bring his vet papers, his bed and his food.

Do not fuss over the dog when you leave. Be calm and quiet. Your message to him is that he will be OK.

When you pick up your dog, let the staff go alone to get the dog. In the midst of an excited family, the dog is more difficult to leash up and control. Dogs who have not been trained are very hyperactive at the time of pickup. This is not a kennel issue. This is a dog-owner issue.

Grooming Requirements

Please do not bring matted dogs to kennel. Coats must be easily washed or brushed out to remove dust or mud from the daily outings.

Make sure there is no hair around the anal area that can trap fecal material.
Nails should be clipped and ears checked. The ear canal should be free of hair and clean.

payment Payment of Fees

Board is charged on the arrival day.

If the dog is picked up before 12:00 noon on the pick-up day, there is no charge for that day.

After 12:00 noon, the daily charge will apply.

Ravendale will accept Visa, Mastercard and Debit cards for deposits and/or balances due.

Cash payments are preferred. Regular clients may pay by cheque. Credit card payment of the deposit must be made at the time of booking.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost is required at the booking.

Drop-off Etiquette

We know that some of you are emotional about leaving your dog, but tearful, drawn out drop-off behavior is not good for your dog. Neither your dog nor the kennel likes negative energy.

If you trust us, you should be fine. If you do not, then you should have used another kennel.
