At Ravendale, OBEDIENCE IS A RELATIONSHIP

Our Obedience training program is based on the premise that obedience is a relationship.™

Because all owner-dog relationships are unique, classes are private.

You are an individual with a specific and unique temperament, personality and knowledge of dogs.

Your dog is a specific breed (or combination of breeds) with special propensities based on genetics, temperament, diet and experience.

What the instructor would teach you might be very different from the next client and his dog because of these unique variables.



There is no pre-determined teaching content. You are taught what you need to do to have a more comfortable and close relationship with your dog. You will be asked early on what you would like to accomplish.

Topics covered may include nutrition counseling, overall health regimen, walking on lead, sit, stay, come, relationship dynamics (living in a pack), walking through a door, getting in and out of the car and meeting your friends, to name a few.

Beautiful 6’ Leather leashes of varying widths and our special THIN chain training collar are available in the right size for your dog and may be purchased for your convenience.



Some dogs may require a ‘pinch collar’. We have the very best and will teach you how to fit, put on the collar and use it properly during training.

You may not use your own equipment during class if it is not approved by the instructor.



Lessons are taught outside (weather permitting) at a cost of $60.per hour session. You may come as many times as you need to and pay as you go. Cash or credit card only. Sessions are set at mutually agreeable times.

During the summer and fall, early evening sessions are available.
